Ben Nevis Basecamp

Welcome to Ben Nevis Basecamp- where rugged Highland landscapes meet rustic luxury.

Rest. Reset. Restore

Set on our peaceful family-run Highland farm, our three beautifully crafted solar-powered cabins offer a truly unique stay in the foothills of Scotland’s highest mountain.  Awaken each morning to breath-taking views of the dramatic North Face of Ben Nevis, with nothing but open skies, fresh mountain air, and the sounds of nature all around you. With the Nevis Range and majestic Ben Nevis at your doorstep and the coast within easy reach, Ben Nevis Basecamp is the perfect starting point for your all adventures. After a fun packed day out, there’s nowhere better to unwind, slow down, reconnect and get back to basics in the evening.  If it’s a restorative rural retreat you’re after Ben Nevis Basecamp has all you need. You can walk barefoot in the wildflower meadow, wander to the river for a wild swim or lie back in your hammock and watch the small herd of horses and sheep graze in the field. Alternatively switch off, drink tea and watch the weather go by from the comfort of your unique room with a view.  The simple Scandinavian inspired interior, with soft colours and natural furnishings are designed to invoke a sense of space, peace and serenity. The huge glass front window invites the outside in, filling the space with wall to wall mountain views. Each cabin has an assortment of board games, a specially curated selection of books, paints and yoga mats.  As dusk falls you can watch the mighty Ben Nevis slowly fade into the darkness from the deck or window seat, then enjoy a wood-fired hot tub bath under the stars. Freshen up under the rainfall shower whilst you enjoy the feeling of hand-selected smooth river stone under foot. Then climb into crisp cotton sheets, sink into the comfiest mattress and fall asleep to the sound of the river in your luxurious handcrafted bed made from gathered windfall wood.

Nature RestorationBen Nevis Basecamp combines low impact, sustainable stays with simple rustic luxury immersed in nature. We believe in not just protecting the natural environment but also enhancing and enriching it. Over the past few years we have been slowly inviting more wildness back to our 500 acre highland farm. We collect native seed, grow saplings and have planted over 6000 native trees. Our continued nature restoration work includes building an osprey platform, planting hedgerows to boost nature connectivity, constructing 17 seed islands to expand riparian woodland and introduce more diverse and lesser found tree species such as Aspen, blackthorn, juniper, dog rose and willow. We have also created a wetland to help boost biodiversity on the farm.

"Wow this is an absolute little piece of paradise. Spotless, private and close enough to the start of many a great hillwalking. Waking up to the view of Ben Nevis was breathtaking. Julie is hugely approachable and has thought of everything — so many personal touches which make the stay that much more special."

"I have stayed at my fair share of Airbnbs and this one is going to be one of my favourites! The view, the attention to detail — games, painting equipment, cosy blankets — made this place spectacular. The wood burning hot tub was the most amazing afternoon activity. I can't recommend this place enough."

"We had the most magical stay at the A Frame! Julie went above and beyond — not only showing us around but offering her time very generously when we needed help with the hot tub. The view was incredible and the outdoor hot bath was divine after our Ben Nevis hike. Can't recommend enough!"

"I cannot think of anywhere better than these stunning Corten steel structures for a mini glamping trip. The bed was one of the comfiest I've slept in and the view of Ben Nevis felt otherworldly. Walks, wild swimming and a relax in the wood fired bath — a spectacular spot where Julie has clearly thought of everything."

"We had a brilliant weekend here! The cabins are really cosy and luxurious but you still feel like you're in the great outdoors. The tub was amazing after a big walk and the kitchen and bathrooms had everything you could need. One of the best places we've stayed — we'd love to come back!"

"I loved my stay in the D frame — being able to unwind and take in the surrounding landscape looking out over Ben Nevis. I really enjoyed heating the outdoor hot tub and slept so well afterwards. The solar bulbs lighting up the structures at night were stunning! Communication with Julie was excellent throughout. Highly recommend!"
